Kimberly
Kimberly Knollenberg was having difficulty finding self-sufficient employment even though she had EMT experience and a Science background. In a household of three,-she had two sons relying on her-this was a very difficult time. Kimberly’s Assessment and Individual Employment Plan indicated that she had the ability to successfully complete the Bachelors of Science- Nursing Program. In addition, she was determined to obtain her Registered Nursing License.
After receiving her acceptance letter from the Methodist College of Nursing Program, Kimberly was confident that she would be successful! Career Link provided Training and Support Services to Kimberly. The tuition and mileage assistance were a tremendous relief for Kimberly. Because of our assistance, Kimberly was able to support her sons and focus on her goals completing the Nursing Program with the highest grades possible.
Kimberly received academic scholarships and grants to help her with additional costs. Some of the programs where she received recognition included: The Honor Society, Sigma Theta Tau, and she won an Award for Community Service.
Kimberly received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing in May of 2021. She received her License as a Registered Nurse in July 2021.
Career Link provided assistance with the NCLEX and the preparation involved with testing to become a Registered Nurse. In addition, Career Link provided job search assistance to enable her with finding immediate full-time employment.
On August 9, 2021, Kimberly began working full time for Proctor 2CMS/MedSurg, at UnityPoint, as a Registered Nurse. Kimberly has received pay raises and remains a full time employee, earning well above full time self-sufficient wages.
Kimberly believes without Career Link, she would not have been able to go to Nursing School and complete her dream/goal, to become a Nurse.
The training, support, and assistance Career Link Provided and continues to provide through follow-up, enabled her to obtain her BSN, RN License, and obtain full time employment.
