Meiah
It is with great honor that LWIA 13 nominate Meiah Davis, RN as for the 2022 IndividualAchievement Award. Meiah came to our One-Stop with a drive fueled by the pandemic. After 13 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse, the Covid-19 pandemic helped her realize the limitations she had as a nurse and the drive she had to do more. Meiah had barriers in her way, single motherhood, sole provider, pandemic were barriers she had when she walked through our door. However, as life brings challenges, Meiah’s health took a turn and she found herself in a hospital bed where she would recover as she studied. Nothing stood in her way. She successfully finished her program and is now an RN. But the inspiration doesn’t stop there!
After Meiah completed her program, she decided to challenger herself once more by applying for a registered nurse position at Duke University Medical center as an Operating Room Nurse. For the past six months, Meiah has proudly held that position in Raleigh, NC. In addition to her impressive employment, she is a recent member of the Association for PeriOperative Registered Nurses; a program that provides for advancement opportunities and learning for pre-operative nurses. Meiah also recently applied for her LLC. Her company, Med Love Scrubs and More is a medical uniform supply retailer in the early stages of opening.
Meiah Davis is an inspiration to all of us in LWIA 13, we are honored to nominate her for the 2022 Individual Achievement Award. We look forward to watching Meiah grow as an essential worker, and the backbone of our nations healthcare system.
