Jenny
Jenny first came into the Workforce Center in July of 2021 seeking assistance with her college education. She completed all the necessary steps to be considered for a career scholarship in a timely manner. After completing testing, eligibility, and career readiness classes she was on her way to complete her dream of graduating from the Radiology Technician Program.
She completed her pre-requisites during the pandemic which gave us a clear indication she would be successful. She was working at CVS Health as a Pharmacy Technician making $15.00 per hour. Before Jenny visited the center, she was accepted into the Radiology Technician Program at JJC. This program only accepts a limited amount each year and is highly competitive.
Ever since Jenny had entered the Career Scholarship program, she had been a model student. Making sure that there was always a monthly contact, pursuing her degree, and completing her classes on time. Jenny graduated from Joliet Junior College with an AAS in Radiologic Technology. Additionally, she sat for and successfully passed her AART (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) credential. After completing her program, she was able to land a role at Morris Hospital as a Radiology Technician earning $25.00 per hour.
