Kallie
Kallie was a 25-year-old single mother with a young son. She was making less than $15.00 per hour and had been accepted into the License Practical Nurse (LPN) program at Lake Land College and the school recommended that she contact the Shelbyville Job Center.
She reached out to the Job Center seeking assistance and to discuss the possibility of getting funding from the WIOA program. After discussing the WIOA Program with her and possible
options for supportive services, she completed the pre-application. Upon looking at her pre-application, LWIA 21 staff determined that she would be perfect candidate for our QUEST program.
During her enrollment Kallie was determined to do well in school and get her degree so that she could better support herself and her son. On July 31st, with her son in the audience, Kallie received her LPN and is now looking forward to starting her career at Heartland Senior Living, making $28.00 per hour!
