Eagle Flexible Packaging is an active employer in the Kane County Workforce Development Division network for over five (5) years and has utilized local services to post/distribute their job opportunities, as well as receive candidate referrals for direct-hire or On-the-Job Training (OJT) employment. Eagle Flexible Packaging was able to identify potential OJT candidates for the role that has strong transferrable/soft skills and need extensive training/learning on the job in order to become proficient in an industrial maintenance capacity. The company immediately reached out to the Kane County Workforce Development Division (WDD) to inquire about the candidate’s eligibility/suitability for the OJT program, and the WDD team, along with the LWIA05 OJT service provider, Employment & Employer Services (E&ES), worked together to expedite the program eligibility process for this hiring employer. In 2021, Eagle Flex identified two candidates and after going through the process not only did they get the training they needed on the plant floor, both candidates successfully completed the training and are full-time employees of Eagle Flex. A third candidate was referred by Eagle Flex this year and that candidate has actually started the OJT in their HR department.

Eagle Flexible Packaging strives to make our community and environment better. In their production area, they work to use environmentally friendly products and reduce waste wherever they can, and they strive to be a positive partner in our community. The Eagle Cares Community focuses on volunteering, food drives, and mentoring projects.

Andrea Litznerski, Talent Acquisition Manager – Eagle Flex and LWIA 5 Board Member says, “The guidance that we received from the E&ES team regarding developing and completing the SATOs helped us provide our OJT participants with a more structured training plan than what we are typically able to offer. Both of our 2021 hires have far exceeded our expectations, and we are confident that the SATO helped with this success. Also, the financial support for us and our new hires has helped too. We are growing quickly and would have hired all OJT participants even if they did not qualify for the program. That said, the financial support that we have received has contributed to our growth. Additionally, the new hires are appreciative of the support that they were offered. There are costs involved in starting any new position, and in the case of our industrial maintenance hires, they purchased some tools that have allowed them to work even more efficiently.”
