Founded in 1857, Klein Tools is a family owned and operated company that designs and manufacturers premium quality, professional-grade hand tools for electricians and other tradespeople. Like many manufacturers, finding skilled talent has become increasingly difficult over the past decade.
Klein became aware of the employer services offered through WIOA funding, specifically funding for apprenticeships. Klein was able to take advantage of WIOA funding in order to expand their existing apprenticeship program. The apprenticeship program allows for hands on as well as classroom training which creates a benefit for both the apprentice and Klein tools.
Furthermore, WIOA funding has created a path to give apprentices the technical skills to succeed. During the duration of the program, apprentices can take small chunks of what they learn from individual classes and apply it on the shop floor immediately after class is complete. Klein tools plans to continue to utilize WIOA funding to support the successful apprenticeship model.
